The two water reservoirs (Slano, Krupac) in Niksicko Polje, Montenegro, show that it is possible to accumulate significant quantities of water in the holokarst terrains. Vrtac represents the reservoir space that has never been brought to a permeable state because there are some ambiguities as well as some disagreements in the technical solutions of the repair works. There is also pronounced need for greater investments, but certain difficulties also appear concerning the determination of the effects of their application. With the regard to the accomplished geological and hydrogeological investigation works, a conclusion could be derived that the fuctionality of the grout curtains Slano and Krupac is seriously endangered. The suggested measures for the repair works at the grout curtains for the breakthrough of the ground waters will enable additional scooping up of the greater amounts of water and will justify the huge investments for relatively short period of time.
